Breathwork: Profound Healing Through the Breath

Breathwork has been practiced for thousands of years. In the “Eight Fold Path” of the yogic tradition it is called pranayama. The basic idea is to release toxins and stress with the exhale and nourish mind, body and spirit with the inhale. The best part of Breathwork is not doing the actual breathing – that part is hard work. The reward comes after, in that moment of stillness and quiet once completed, and the healing benefits that follows the practice.

Healing with Prana

Breathwork is very serious and powerful practice. The point is to let the mind go and to connect to the body, in which we often store and hold all of the painful past experiences from our lives.
Our society doesn’t teach us ways of processing our emotional pain and past trauma.
Breathwork can be used to improve one’s physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual health.
Breathing with intention in rhythmic cycles for an extended period of time, combined with long breath holds, allows for the release of deeply stored trauma within us.
